Softball and Tball

I asked the girls if they wanted to play this year and was expecting the same answer they give me every year a very quick "no." So I was very surprised that they all said "yes" I was happy that they wanted to play and I was excited to see them play and get into sports. Little did I know that I would have games every day at the park and Monday and Wednesday twice a day. Next year if they decide to play again I will try to get them on the same teams so I do not live at the park.
Makenzie has never played and thought when she signed up that the coaches would be pitching to her but she ended up getting the pitching machine. She had a couple practices before her game but only one with the pitching machine. I have to say that I am very surprised with her. She hits the ball every time she is up to bat. She has really enjoyed it and I love that she has a good time.
Makenzie's team was called the Orange Wolves.
Hannah has always wanted to do some sort of sport but would never say yes to any of them because she is also my super shy one. So I guess when her sisters said yes she thought she would be ok.
She has loved it and will probably start in on all the other sports now even if her other sisters don't.  Her team is called the Rambunctious Royals.
Kaitlyn has had fun with it but now it is old news she doesn't like to go stand out in the outfield and wait for the ball to come to her. She likes to hit the ball and run the bases and then she is done.
We will see if she does it next year as of right now the answer is no.  Her team is called Ball Hoggzz.
These two girls really have enjoyed it and it was even better when they both came home with the MVP of the game. $1.00 off Orange Leaf they love that place and sadly those coupons were used the same day. The month of June has come and gone with ball games and two of them are done this week but Makenzie's will go until the middle of July. Spencer has been such a good sport he brings his bike and rides around the park. He wanted to play so bad when they first started but next year he will be old enough. Oh how I can't wait to be done. Until then it really has been fun to watch them.

Any one want a drink?

So I walk in the kitchen the other day and found this...
I guess he was thirsty.
I thought it was cute so I took a picture and now he thinks he is cute when he does it. No matter how many times he was told not to do it he did for a couple of days. Thankfully the jug of milk is gone and he has learned not to drink out of the jug.  Can I just say don't all kids do this at some point in their lives young or old.

Kaitlyn graduated from preschool.

I forgot to mention in my other posts that Kaitlyn graduated from preschool. She loved her preschool class this year. I was lucky enough to be able to help every Monday afternoon. Sorry the pictures are not great my camera had a dead battery and because all of the last of the school year events were happening the same week I didn't realize my camera was dead until right before we were leaving. So these pictures are off of Josh's phone.  Don't worry we got alot on our video camera.
They did a cute cowboy story that went along with the alphabet. Kaitlyn had the letter "I" her part was "I is for insects, those pesky old things, they torment my horse, and itches they bring."
This picture is not of her whole class her class is pretty much to the right of Kaitlyn they had the morning class and afternoon class together.  Kaitlyn is the one in the black shirt sitting right next to the one in the yellow on the front row.
Thanks to Mrs. Long for a fun year of preschool for her.  At the end of their program her teacher gave them all a CD of pictures put to music and tied to the balloons in the back was a bag of fun summer toys.  They all wore a cowboy hat home and rode their horses they made out to the cars.  I guess she is ready for kindergarten now.  That will leave me and Spencer home every afternoon, poor boy he will be so lost with out his playmate.

Tooth fairy was busy tonight.

Hannah needed some teeth pulled because some of her other teeth were coming in and there was no room in her mouth so the orthodontist said to avoid further mouth problems it was best to get six of her baby teeth pulled now and then we will go back in six months to see if any more teeth need pulled. Sitting in the chair getting some laughing gas. Once she got the gas she became really smiley and silly.
When she got home she could barely talk because her mouth was so numb. She was excited to eat a milkshake for dinner but then after it was made she took one bite and said she was done because she couldn't feel her lips and she didn't know if she was actually getting it in her mouth or not. So she waited for a while and ended up eating mashed potatoes for dinner.
Showing off her teeth and mask.
After the tooth fairy visited. Look at how cute her toothless smile is.
I am so proud of this little girl because she has the hardest time going to the dentist just to get her teeth cleaned so it was a huge accomplishment for her to go through this process.

Memorial weekend

Memorial weekend we spent with Troy and Ann's family, my parents, and my cousin Sara her husband Matt and their cute little girl. I am so mad I did not get more pictures of everyone. We also went and had the best visit with Josh's grandma and Casey and Amber met us there so sorry I don't have pictures of all of that. These are the ones I have and so worth it. My brother has a pool in his back yard and the kids think they need to go swimming even if it's freezing outside. The weather was sunny for a little bit and then cloudy and back and forth but still cold outside. I don't even think we got into the 70's or if we did it was low 70's. Here is the crew before they got in. It is so cold they have to be wrapped up in their towels. Bailey on the far right was the only one who did not get in and I don't blame her one bit.
They are all figuring out that it's not that warm in the pool either. Spencer had already jumped in and came up gasping for air and shocked at how cold it was. If you look to the far left of the picture you can see a splash from Spencer.
My mom and Bailey watching everyone freeze. If you look at Rylee and Kaitlyn's hair blowing in the wind you can get an idea of how cold it is.
Hannah is not sure she wants to get in any more than she already is and Makenzie and Spencer are starting to turn blue. I think at one point we told the kids to get out of the pool and then jump back in because if you did the water would feel warmer. Crazy kids. Most of them were done after five to ten minutes.
This one is me in my winter coat freezing outside. I was also trying to get the wind to show that but right when I snapped the shot the wind stopped. Oh well.
A couple of the kids after swimming still freezing and playing games.
We had a fun time visiting with everyone. Who can go wrong when you have good company and good food. Thanks Troy and Ann for putting us up for four nights. Next time we come it will be way warmer and we can actually enjoy the pool (we hope). We will try not to bring all of our bad weather with us next time...

The last week of school.

The last week of school was filled with projects, field days, jump rope contests and black outs. Hannah's field day was in the morning and then the parents were invited to come have a picnic with their children and then the older classes would have their field day in the afternoon. I forgot to pull my bread out of the freezer for our lunch so I pulled it out on my way out the door to watch Hannah. I figured I would go watch her for a little while, then come home make lunch, head back to the school, eat lunch, and then watch Makenzie. I got there to watch Hannah when the mom in charge of field day came running over to me saying that some moms didn't show up to help and could I please help. So I ended up being there longer then expected. I guess it was a good thing. After they were done with field day they were headed in to get their lunches and check in with their teachers. Hannah's teacher wanted to talk to me for a minute so I went in the class room and the power was out for the entire school. The principal was walking around telling those parents that were there for the picnic that the power would not be on for at least two hours and you could take your children home. So needless to say Makenzie never had field day.

Hannah waiting in line to move to the next game.
This one you have to run down and pick up a marble in your toes from cold water and run back and put it in a bucket.
This is Hannah with gum that she got for finding the gum at the bottom of a pile of whipping cream. By the time she got it in her mouth with all the whipping cream it turned really sticky and was everywhere.
Makenzie had to do a science project for the end of the year and this is what she wanted to do. She had big plans for this volcano it was to have a lake and trees and flowers to show what happens to all of those things when a volcano erupts. I am so sad I didn't get any pictures of her actually setting it off but it was because the day that she presented it, it was raining so hard so I was helping her set them both off at the exact same time. So you can imagine a big mess of soda shooting up in the air and then covering her display. It was a really cool project that she had a lot of fun creating.
Next came Hannah in the Jump rope contest. She had a blast doing it and she got 133 jumps per minute. She did awesome for being a first grader and for someone who does not like any attention being brought to her.
Here she is waiting with all the other first graders. The way this works is the top boy and top girl from each class gets to compete in the contest. I am glad she had fun with this.
This is the last project we did for the year we made these cute litter watering cans with these cute flowers that can be used for your hair, on a necklace, a broach, or on a bracelet. My girls enjoyed helping and taking them to their teachers. I am so glad school is out no more projects that need to be finished up, no more home work, and no more getting up early. Now we can sleep in and do what ever we want. Bring on summer.

Fourth Graders at the zoo...need I say more.

The day of Makenzie's field trip was not looking very good it looked like it was going to rain and was still chilly outside. We (Kaitlyn, Spencer, and I) met her class at the zoo and the crazy began. Not really but her teacher asked me to stick with Makenzie and three of her friends. As soon as we got in the gates they were off.
We went to the monkeys first and Spencer loved watching them swing from branch to branch while grabbing some food along the way.
This group of girls are funny to be with I am just glad Makenzie has some really good friends.
The penguins were all waiting to be fed and they knew it was almost time because none of them were doing anything except standing by the door waiting. They also smelled really gross.
The lions were out that day thank goodness the last couple of times we have been they have not been out. My kids were starting to think they were never really there.
Spencer what more can I say about him except for the fact that he loved every minute of running around the zoo and not being in a stroller. After the zoo we walked over to the park and the kids had a picnic and played on the toys for awhile. It is always fun to have these moments with your kids, and the looks on their faces when they are trying to take it all in and still wondering what comes next. I am glad that I get to experience this with my kids.
